year to start the selection process for new NEC Users Group Board
Members. Board membership is an excellent opportunity for user members
to gain professional experience and contribute to the ongoing success of
a much needed and exciting organization. There are two director
positions available this election (3-year term). A reminder that Board
membership is only open to end users. We are hoping that you will submit
a nomination, either for yourself or for someone that you think has the
experience, skills and enthusiasm for this exciting opportunity.
Estimated time commitments and information for Board positions can be
found on our web site,

in the Board of Directors section, under Qualifications,
Information and Guidelines. Elected Board Members will begin
serving their term at the close of the Annual Conference Board Meeting
to be held in Jacksonville, Florida, May 7, 2008.

Board Member Information/Application
The responsibilities of this three-year position vary, but generally
require approximately ten hours per month of administrative and
committee duties. In addition to the Annual Conference, there are summer
and fall Board meetings utilizing the weekends to minimize time away
from work. Monthly conference calls (one hour) also are held. Board
Member attendance at the Annual Conference usually begins the proceeding
Friday and concludes the following Thursday. All group related business
expenses for the annual conference and board meetings will be paid for
by the NEC Users Group.
