Thank you for visiting the NEC Users Group web
site. What’s it all about, anyway? Customer dialogue with NEC and learning from
other customers with the same systems.
Voice systems are largely proprietary; it is not a simple thing to substitute one for another when something doesn’t work the way it needs to. Effective communication with NEC is key to making the systems better. Like all complex systems, there are different ways to solve problems. Spending time with peers can provide just the kernel of knowledge needed to solve a problem or create an opportunity. I remember my first Users Group conference. I asked a question concerning a problem we were having with what is now no longer an industry problem, answer supervision. NEC knew of no solution. But the user sitting behind knew a fix. That single interaction justified the time and cost. Today, much of our communication is via email or other electronic means; we pick each other’s brains on a daily basis, and when NEC is needed on a question, we get them involved. At the annual conference, we provide NEC with a list of topics, questions or suggestions, and NEC executives provide responses. This year, topics of interest to members include VoIP migration and the associated issues; implementation of NEC’s management application for voice; and the relationship between wired, cellular, VoIP wireless, and migration from rotary dial to touch tone telephones. Well, maybe not the last one! Thanks for looking, please contact us with any questions. Dan Mulholland |
Our Members:
The NEC Users Group membership consists of ‘Regular’ members and ‘Associate’
members. ‘Regular’ members are companies that have an NEC system installed,
or have a signed contract to install an NEC system, and whose primary purpose is
not producing, selling, maintaining, renting or providing consultation for NEC
equipment or systems. ‘Associate’ members, also referred to as ‘Dealer’
members, are companies who are authorized distributors of NEC Systems. |
The 2009 NEC Users Group Annual Conference is May 17 - 20 at the Hyatt Regency O'Hare, Chicago, IL |
