About Us
Our Mission:
The purpose of the NEC Users Group is to provide a forum for sharing information
and ideas among members. The Group provides avenues for members to learn about
products, submit issues of concern and contribute to the development of the NEC
products.The NEC Users Group was
started in 1984 to bring together large users of the NEAX 2400 system to share ideas, experiences and
identify problems to NEC. The first meeting was held
in October of 1984 in Tenafly, New Jersey, hosted by
CPC International. During the early years, the Group's
membership grew and NEC's involvement increased.
Formal by-laws and a
Board
of Directors
was established in May of 1987 at the Group's meeting
at Innsbrook Resort in Tarpon Springs, Florida. A
Nebraska corporation was also established in the name
of The NEAX 2400 IMS Users Group.
At the Annual Conference in Seattle, Washington in
April, 1988, the Group established its Business Office
in Columbia, South Carolina. Years continued to pass
with meetings held across the country in locations
such as New Orleans, Atlanta, San Diego, Dallas,
Nashville, Phoenix, Tampa, Panama City Beach, Las
Vegas and Orlando.
In 1993 the Group changed its name to The NEAX Users
Group. It also moved its corporation to South Carolina
and extended its membership to include users of all
NEAX systems.
In 2005 the Group
changed its name to the NEC Users Group to
extend its membership to include users of all NEC
systems.
